Ginevra Barboni
After completing the classical secondary school, Ginevra enrolls at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University La Sapienza, with address “Modern Letters: Italian Stu- dies”. In December 2013 he obtained a three-year degree by presenting a thesis of literary criticism entitled: “Perelà, a man of smoke at the turn of two centuries”. (Supervisor Prof. Mirko Bevilacqua).
In the same year she enrolled in the master’s degree in “Television, cinema and new media” at the IULM University of Milan. In 2016 he obtained a master’s degree with a thesis entitled “The Mirror of Andrej Tarkovskij: a film between memory and remembrance.” (Supervisor Prof. Giovanni Chiaramonte).
Together with her university studies, Ginevra has always dedicated herself to the study of cinema and photography, her passions. The latter were transmitted to her by her grandfa- ther and father: the first director of photography, director and screenwriter; the second writer and director.
In this perspective, in the summers of 2009 and 2011, she followed two workshops, one in “filmaking” and the other in “digital filmaking”, at the “New York Film Academy” in New York. Thanks to these experiences she had the chance to compare himself with both film and digital, making 2 short films as a director, 4 as a director of photography and 3 as a camera assistant.
In 2016 she was admitted to the workshop in “Shooting and photography” by Ercole Visconti at the Civic School of Cinema Luchino Visconti.
In 2017 she follows the workshop held by Franco Fontana during the national photography conference in Genoa and is admitted to the master’s degree in “Camera Operator, Di- rector of Photography and Editing” at the National Academy of Cinema in Bologna.
From 2008 she began attending film sets working as an assistant in several short films.
Between 2015 and 2016 she was assistant to the photographer Maurizio Montagna, who assisted in fashion and architecture photo shoots and during the basic photography course at the Spazio Forma in Milan.
Between 2016 and 2017 she worked as assistant director and camera operator for Ballandi Multimedia for the first two seasons of the “Master of Photography” program produced by Sky Arte.
In 2018 she made the film Tundra by Federico Mattioni as director of photography.
Over the last year she has written and directed her first work, the short film The life that awaits you with Giulia Lazzarini, to be released in 2019.
