Once upon a time, three mothers killed a wolf.

Three moms on a weekend retreat in the country, learn a heinous gang rapist has been released from prison nearby. Incensed by the atrocious nature of the crime against a teenaged girl, and incarceration of only one of the perpetrators, the women find themselves novice killers and arbiters of justice.

BIOGRAPHIES

Writer / Director / Producer Angela Atwood

Angela is thrilled to return to Lady Filmmakers, where the web series pilot she directed, Chronicles of a BLEEP Year Old Woman, won Best Web Series in 2019. She’s a Missouri-born, Buffalo-bred, NYC-based director/actor/writer/filmmaker, graduate of The William Esper Studio. Her time spent living in Russia and Germany as a girl, then raising her own daughter and son to adulthood in NYC, imbue her films and writing with specific life experience on a common horizon, tackling themes of repression and injustice with humanity and humor. Her passion is telling stories and melting faces, often with a big (sometimes bloody) velvet hammer. Her feature screenplay, Wendy,is a Top 10 Drama Finalist in the New York Screenplay Contest, and her multi-award-winning short, Lady Hunters, is currently in development as a feature film. 

Cinematographer Lauretta Prevost

Lauretta Prevost is a documentary and narrative cinematographer who has been filming for over a decade. Her first narrative feature was filmed in 2008. Her narrative interests are first and foremost rooted in strong stories. (And how fantastic if we are also making stylistic, strongly visual, and impactful films.) She is based in New York City, and is happy to travel for work. She works primarily as a cinematographer, and sometimes as a one-woman-band filmmaker.

Lauretta occasionally writes for outlets such as Al Jazeera, American Cinematographer, No Film School, ICG, and Filmmaker Magazine.

Production Designer Fulvio Della Volta
Born in Switzerland, raised in Italy, crafted in New York, Fulvio is an Italian actor, writer and producer living in NYC. In 2005 he earned his Masters in Communication & Media studies at La Sapienza University of Rome, and in 2009 he graduated from the William Esper Studio Two Year Conservatory Program in New York. In 2007 he founded his production company Parallel Differences Productions. In 2011 he became a member of SAG-AFTRA. In 2013 he began working with the Educational Theater of New York. Fulvio will play the role of Andreas Masseria the head of a crime family in a new project called INFILTRATED currently in pre-production and scheduled to shoot in 2019.

Editor Austin Bening

Austin Bening is a digital media veteran and seasoned YouTubeman.  He started his career at Maker Studios, working with such talent as Mishka the Talking Husky, The Gregory Brothers and Camila Coelho.  Having shed his corporate shackles, he now wears many hats as a producer, director, writer and editor.  He's known for peddling such web series as the Triplets of Kings County, Life After Fat and, most notably, My Gay Roommate, which has been featured in The Huffington Post, The New York Times and Vanity Fair as “the next Will and Grace.”  As comfortable in the editing bay as he is behind the camera, Austin enjoys eating buffalo wings, confusing dogs, and listening to the soothing sounds of James Taylor.

Director Statement
Lady Huntersbegan as a conversation between my great friend Lara Buck Antolik (co-star / co-executive producer) and I, in response to the news about Bill Cosby. Thanks to the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant and my terrific cinematographer Lauretta Prevost (this is our fourth project together), we were able to tell a story that’s been waiting a very long time to be told, with remarkable equipment and beautiful footage. (71 words)
