Patricia DiSalvo Viayra

 

 

 

 

 

 

Festival Director &
Co-Founder

Patricia has been entertaining people her whole life. At the age of 2 she began dancing on stage and later developed a love of theatre. Patricia earned a BA in Theatre from George Mason University. She also attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in California.

Patricia translated her passion for performing arts into her pursuit of filmmaking. After hosting, writing, producing, and directing local South Carolina commercials & tv shows, she turned to writing, directing, and producing her first Short Film Naked Sushi (completed in January 2009). Naked Sushi screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner and has nationwide distribution with the largest college campus tv network.

Patricia is the co-founder and co-owner of Lucky Bag Films and she is currently writing & collaborating on several short and feature length projects.

Co-Founder

Mike graduated from the United States Naval Academy and after completing his active duty service attended UCLA School of Law.  He now practices at a major international law firm.

Mike enjoys collaborating with his favorite Lady Filmmaker, Patricia, to produce film festivals and short and feature length films.

Cira Felina Bolla

Festival Advisor 

Cira graduated from New York University (Tisch School of the Arts, Film & Television).

In 2006, Bolla received an Emmy Nomination for her documentary camera work on Episode 5: Stories from the Sharp Experience. In 2005, Bolla's passion for the camera resulted in a prestigious appointment with the Women in Film Cinematography Fellowship. Thereafter, she closely studied her craft in a "hands-on" environment while on the set of the Emmy-winning "House MD" television series, where she trained in various aspects of cinematography by the distinguished veteran Cinematographer, Roy Wagner, ASC (a former student of Ansel Adams).

Jenny Lax

Artistic Director

At New York University’s Film School, Jenny Lax had the opportunity to make her own short films, and become familiar with all aspects of film craft. Post graduating, she co-wrote and co-produced, and shot films for both documentaries and PBS arts programs.

Since the late 1970s Jenny Lax has primarily worked in the design field for film and television. After 15 years in film production in New York City, she moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990's and continued in the design field for the film studios.

From 1995 to 2005, Jenny helped establish kidZtv, a non-profit, television workshop for ‘special needs’ kids. The program continues as a supplemental teaching aid in several elementary schools in the Los Angeles, CA area.

Laurie Kirby



Juror & Festival Advisor

Laurie Kirby is an entertainment attorney and currently senior executive at Ambassador Media Partners, a film consulting business based in LA. Her partners consist of the past-president of Miramax International, ICM International and Orion Pictures. They consult on all matters relating to production and distribution of films. Before that she was Senior Vice president of HerFlicks formerly WomensFilmNet, a distribution company committed to distributing online films by, for and about women. She currently is an advisor to the Film Festival Summit, a group organized to educate film festivals.

From 1998-2007, Laurie Kirby served as General Counsel and then Executive Director of the Newport International Film Festival. She also served as Executive Director of the Ojai Film Festival and Festival Director of The Barbados International Film Festival. She has consulted with many film festivals including the US Sports Film Festival.

Tim Wassberg Juror & Festival Advisor

Tim Wassberg is producer of the national television show "The Inside Reel" as well as interviewer and critic. In addition, he handles Film Acquisitions for Sirk TV which broadcasts shorts, features, and documentaries on the national Zilo Network.

Tim graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with two degrees: a BFA in Film/TV Production and a BFA in Film Theory/Criticism. He formerly served as an acquisitions executive at Sony Corporation of America's Sony Connect Video Group. Earlier in his career, he served as Story Editor and Creative Executive at Steamroller Productions. Prior to that he worked as a Story Analyst for such movie companies as Interscope, Mark Johnson
Productions, Kopelson Entertainment and Creative Artists Agency.


Tim also wrote two monthly columns for national magazine Casino Player for nearly 5 years. In addition to his work on "The Inside Reel", he has also written articles and features for magazines such as Moviemaker, Moving Pictures, Written By, Create, Dvox Magazine, Valley Scene and Conde Nast Traveller UK.
